This group taps into the Spanish spirit to perform this storied traditional music with reverence and dazzling virtuosity. Gary Meyers’ sultry musicality has garnered favorable comparisons to contemporary artists such as Jesse Cook, Johannes Linstead, Pavlo, Gipsy Kings and Ottmar Liebert. Show all ages.

Winter Session 2025 classes start today @ Colorado Institute of Flamenco!
For those who aren’t aware, I operate a beautiful school devoted to the art of flamenco in guitar, singing (Cante), and dance. Classes start today at Colorado Institute of Flamenco. I’m teaching group flamenco guitar tonight at 6pm. If you’ve never experienced a group flamenco guitar class before, I invite you to give one of my classes a try on a drop-in basis. It’s all levels, cost for a single class is $30.00, for a 90-minutes session (a steal) and wonderful cost-saving packages as well. Also, this is a really great opportunity to connect with fellow flamenco guitarists here in the Denver/Boulder area.
What you’ll do.
Learn to master techniques like alzapúa, arpeggios, tremolo, picado (picking), and ragueo (strumming), over memorized repertoire to help you develop speed, agility, and accuracy, as well as rhythm.
Class is based on the techniques class originated by Alquilino “El Entrí” Jimenez, from Cañaroto, Madrid, and Flamenco Masters like Paco de Lucia, Sabicas, Pedro Cortés, and more.
This Winter Session
I be teaching Alegrías form of flamenco this session. We have an amazing crew of guitarists this year and I look forward to really digging in that, the tientos por tangos and the “Mother of all Flamenco” the Soleá. My goal is to help propel each and every participant toward performing and accompaniment. Singers you, too! Crossover week is slated for Feb 12 and 15 which is at the mid-point of the session where guitarist and singers will join the Level 1 dance class for a cuadro (flamenco ensemble) style class.
So, join me and jump start the new year and embark on this exciting journey and discover the beautiful artistry of flamenco in a relaxed and supportive environment. Immerse yourself in the captivating rhythms and rich cultural heritage that flamenco offers, and together, we will uncover a new and vibrant musical expression. You’re guaranteed to have a fantastic time while learning and exploring!
¡Un Abrazo!
